This time, I present to you a beautiful all-steel Seiko watch, model 5 Sports with automatic movement. Seiko is an icon of Japanese precision watchmaking, and is also an icon in the world of watch collectors. This diver’s model is truly very fascinating; the quality of its materials exceeds its quality–price ratio. You can observe its great quality and precision from up close. From the moment of producing its first mechanical watch in 1895, Seiko Watch Corporation has continued to hone in on its experience by developing better and better watches. Today, the mark produces every component of its watches:
alloy, spring, scale, movement, dial, markers and box.
This Seiko 5 Sports watch is affectionately nicknamed ‘Fifty Fathoms’, since it shares design elements with the iconic diver’s watch of the same name. The watch uses a Seiko 23-jewel 7S36 automatic movement inside a 42 mm stainless steel case. The glossy baton hour markers are tipped with Lumibright, and the sword hands are also large and illuminated. The 120-click unidirectional rotated bezel has a triangle at 12 o’clock and Arabic numerals. Situated inside the frame is a convex Hardlex crystal. The watch features a day & date window at 3 o’clock, while the case back gives a view of the internal mechanism of the movement.
