Navahand is a village in the Araq district, the Sarouk region where originally nomadic tribes knotted their rugs; the refinement of their technique over the years has culminated in one of the finest products of Persian craftsmanship, both for quality and price.
Wool on cotton, measuring 235 x 148 cm. Late 20th Century. Made in kork wool from the undercoat of Mohair goats, which gives this rug its extreme softness.
Actual density: 250,000 knots/m². In perfect condition.
