STOP WATCH MIL-W-5605A BREITLING rare, vintage pocket watch.
The watch is in working order with some signs of wear.
Wakmann developed this watch in collaboration with Breitling for the American army in the 1940s/60s.
Engraving on the exterior of the case back:
"STOP WATCH MIL-W-5605A SERIAL NO. 1223 FSN: 2H 6645-241-3280 MFG.PART NO. 605A CONT.NO. N00104-70-D-0317 U. S.”
Engraving on the inside of the case back:
BREITLING WATCH LTD"
(There is also an engraving made by hand for some repairs carried out a few years ago).
The word BREITLING is also engraved on the dial under the upper sub-dial, and SWISS is engraved above the lower sub-dial, but they cannot be made out in the photos.
The watch has a chrome-plated nickel case with a screw-down case back. Diameter 50 mm, thickness 15 mm.
The watch and the chronograph are in perfect working order and keep time.
Signs of wear as shown in photos.
There is a mark on the crystal at about 1 o'clock.
If the push button is not pressed hard enough when starting the stopwatch, the hand slips a couple of seconds; I do not know whether this is a defect or whether it is normal. It stops and resets perfectly.
As highlighted with the arrow, in the second photo of the movement, the index assembly protector is damaged and missing.
No box or guarantee.
At the time of packaging, the watch is guaranteed to be in working order and to keep the time.
We guarantee that the watch up for auction is the one shown in the photos.
