Rare sepia photogravure by Lehnert and Landrock, a portrait of two young Berber girls in the patio of a house, Tunisia.
Lehnert and Landrock’s nudes are a reference in Oriental erotic photography from the late 19th century and are superb, very sought after and deserve to be framed.
Excellent condition, signed in the negative on the bottom right.
Rudolf Lehnert (1878-1948), French, and Ernst Landrock (1878 - 1966), German, were two photographers who became partners in order to take over the studio of photographer J. André Garrigues, from 1904 to 1914 in Tunis (Tunisia). Their work is one of the most influential for Tunisia from the late 19th and early 20th century.
