The Kulango (or Koulango, Koulango Bouna, Kulango Buna, Kulange, Nkuraeng, Nkurange) are about 150.000 souls living in the north of Côte d'Ivoire, near the Ghanaian border, spread among the Senufo, closely related to the Lobi. They are also found in the Comoé national park.
They were called ‘Pakhallas’ by the Dioulas and often so designated by the first colonists.
Ethnic group from the Upper Volta, they practice very little the cult of ancestors and rather venerate many spirits of nature. Their art is influenced by the Akan culture conveyed by the Abron.
