This special fusee pocket watch is a very early cylinder escapement.
This is a quality watch. The maker Paul Philip Barraud was a leading maker in the 19th century in London. A book was written about him and his watches.
The white enamel dial shows a few hairline cracks as shown in the photos.
The strong case is large and heavy. Beautifully decorated and little visible wear.
The case is marked multiple times for sterling silver, the lids close well.
The movement is protected by the original dust lid. The dust lid is loose.
The movement is clean and runs well. Very high quality.
