Longines Grand Prix Savonette Rattrapante split second chronograph - engraved with "Grand Prix" medal of commendation
Casing and crown made of 18 kt gold, both lids 18 kt
This is an unworn model, which was only exhibited at fairs. The exhibit was always kept in a safe (almost 100 years!) and underwent regular care by a watchmaker.

Perfectly preserved white enamel dial, Arabic hour indices, permanent 30 minutes and 60 second display, double second stop hand, functions smoothly, Start, Stop, Reset, Second Stop, drag indicator

Longines gold Chronograph Rattrapante Longines, Chronograph Rattrapante, no. 2974033. Made circa 1917. Very beautiful, 18 kt gold, key-less pocket watch with split second chronograph and lightening-quick 30 minute register. Four body "demi-bassine", polished, two-part gold pusher on the band by the 11 o'clock position, coaxial button in the crown for Start / Stop and Return-to-Zero of the chronograph. Hinged gold cuvette with engraved Grand Prix medal. White enamel with vibrant painted dauphin numerals, outer minute arrangement, outer fifths of a second chronograph, red varnished Arabic five second hand, small second and 30 minute register. Gold spade hands. Cal. 19.73N, frosted gold-plated, 21 jewels, straight lever escapement, monometallic balance spring, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, cam micrometre controller, visible "split-seconds" mechanism. Dial, casing and movement signed.
Notes: it is rare to find a Longines Chronograph Rattrapante with a gold casing.
