Exquisite etching of the Brouwersgracht in Amsterdam. Rare item.
Etching is numbered 40 on bottom left and signed Witsen bottom right in pencil.
On certified paper.
Present in both the collection of the Rijksmuseum and the Boymans.
In good condition: Paper has a few light brown blemishes on the reverse. In the right margin is a tear of ± 3 cm. This fixed on the reverse with very transparent special paper (20 gr/m2), can be removed, lignine-free, ultra thin, acrylic adhesive, permanently elastic, does not yellow, buffered with CaCo3.
The reverse of the paper is blank. Wide margins.
