Aklama Helper Spiritis of the Ewe and Dangme
from the Study collection of Horst Antes
This monograph on the Aklama is the third publication about non-European art, conceived by Horst Antes and edited by the Studienstiftung Horst Antes. This book is abundantly illustrated with 375 full colour pages representing 1424 Aklama, including 127 in their true dimensions. These researches, as well as the representation of these figurines, allowed collectors, museums and ethnologists to discover for the first time, this yet neglected culture arisen in the estuary of the Volta River. This monograph will favour the study and preservation of an unknown culture.
