Charles Valton (1851-1918) - escultura "novilla" - régule / Matas - Finales del siglo XIX
Francia

Charles Valton (Pau, 26 January 1851 - Chinon, 21 May 1918) was one of the greatest French sculptors of animals.

He was born in the Pyrenees, but grew up in Paris where he often went to the botanical gardens (Jardin des Plantes).
Admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris, he was a student of Antoine-Louis Barye and Emmanuel Frémiet (directors and famous sculptors of the Academy).

From 1868 to 1914, Valton made over 70 animal models and was appointed professor of sculpture at the Germain Pilon school in Paris in 1883.

The sculpture was polished with some oil for metal. You can simply remove it with a cloth.
