Botho von Gamp attribuito - Natura morta

Botho von Gamp attribuito - Natura morta
Óleo sobre lienzo - Sin firmar

Von Gamp grew up in Berlin. For painting studies he moved first in 1913 to Munich and later to Paris. Here arose a close friendship with Max Pechstein and Henri Matisse, with the following turn to impressionism. [1] In 1950, he returned to Germany, where he settled in Bad Schachen on Lake Constance. At the same time he set up a second Studio in Forio in Ischia.

Since the 1970s, Botho von Gamp was also closely associated with the gallery owner Horst Kaiser, who regularly represented him at international art fairs via the Galerie Apfelbaum. In 1976 Karl-Georg von Stackelberg published a portrait of the artist entitled "The Painter Botho von Gamp". In 1984, a comprehensive catalogue with texts by the art historian Gerd Presler, published by the Galerie Apfelbaum publishing house, was published posthumously in 1984, and illuminated 120 pages of the artist's complete oeuvre.
