Here he depicts Josep Andreu i Lasserre in action, better known as Charlie Rivel. This was an internationally acclaimed Spanish circus clown (see last photo).

He studied at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague. He is one of the most famous sculptors of the Netherlands and enjoys international recognition. Kees also creates colourful gouaches and graphic art.
Kees Verkade creates figurative representations of man in motion, such as children playing, athletes, dancers, and lovers.
His works are included in museums and private collections in the Netherlands and abroad. Also his work is regularly auctioned at large international auction houses.
