In 1949, the Posthoorn group was created, named after Bodega De Posthoorn on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague.
Numerous painters including Kees van Bohemia, Jan Cremer, Jos van den Berg, Paul Kromjong and Ber Mengels exhibited in De Posthoorn.
In 1951, the ‘Verve’ group arose with a modern-figurative art.
This group existed until 1957.
Following Verve, the group ‘Fugare’ was founded in 1960 with the accent on non-figurative art.
This group existed until 1967.
In 1947, an exhibition was organised in the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, mostly with participants who belonged to one of the mentioned groups Verve, Fugare, or the Posthoorn group.
Blans’ work is included in the collections of: Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, Boijmans van Beuningen and the State Collection.
