His education was at the Accademia di Brera in Milan, where he arrived after travelling to some European countries, and then after 1935 to the Academy in Florence, where he was Felice Carena’s pupil, and where, thanks to a scholarship, he could devote himself totally to painting.
In the meantime, in 1947 he moved to Paris, while maintaining stable relations with the Tuscan environment, where he spent the summer periods between Poggibonsi and the Island of Elba, as well as with the Milanese and Roman environments.
In Paris, thanks to his friendship with Emile Gilioli, he came into contact with Alberto Magnelli and then, having established a working partnership with the Denise Renée Gallery, a supporter of non-figurative trends, with the emerging figures of Parisian abstractionism, Polyakoff and Vasarely above all. At the same time he strengthened his Milanese relations, with the MAC in particular, which organised his first personal exhibition at the Galleria Salto.
He has exhibited several times in the French capital city, besides Denise Renée, at the La Hume Gallery. He also participated, as a founding member and member of the management committee, with André Bloc, Fernand Leger and Sonia Delaunay, in the ‘En plein air’ exhibitions of the Groupe Espace: in Biot in 1954 and in the Park of Saint Cloud in 1955.
His works are kept in some of the world’s major museums, from the MOMA in New York to the Galleries of Modern Art in Sao Paulo, Florence, Madrid and Paris.
The work is supplied with a certificate of origin and authenticity issued by Galleria M&D Arte.
For bureaucratic reasons the sale is valid only for the countries of the European Community.
