An artisanal puppet, with head in beech wood painted in tempera; a dress in red velvet with golden cotton edges; helmet, armour, shoes and shield in sheet metal. Probably dating back to the 70s. Complete with metal rods and thread to move the limbs and the head.

"Opera dei Pupi" is a type of puppet theatre, already known in 1700, whose characters are Charlemagne and his paladins. The exploits of these characters are treated through the rework of the material contained in the novels and poems of the matter of France, of the history of the Paladins of France and Orlando Furioso.
In 2008, UNESCO inscribed the Pupi in the oral and intangible heritage of humanity, having originally proclaimed it in 2001.
