"Opera dei Pupi" is a type of puppet theatre, already known in 1700, whose characters are Charlemagne and his paladins. The exploits of these characters are treated through the rework of the material contained in the novels and poems of the matter of France, of the history of the Paladins of France and Orlando Furioso.

In 2008, UNESCO inscribed the Pupi in the oral and intangible heritage of humanity, having originally proclaimed it in 2001.
