Original advertising poster for the (financial) products of the Antwerp Construction & Mortgage Bank. To be dated about 1920.
Interesting time document because of the offered interest: 3.60% on savings booklets, 4% for 'ground pawn like' bonds for 15 years, savings certificates on behalf of 500 Fr(anc) to 4% per year.

Design: Illegible signature under chair at the bottom left: ' A. G(eu ?) derd (?).

Condition B: Originally light cardboard and intended for interior-poster (CFR. indication at the bottom edge right: 'May not be hung in public without seal'.

The "Banque Mortgage et Immobilière d'Anvers or Antwerp's Construction and Mortgage Bank was established in Antwerp in 1908 and converted in 1935 to the Société Anversoise the Dépôts et d'Hypotheques or Antwerpsche Maatschappij van Deposito's en Hypotheken. This financial institution, whose business was savings accounts, bonds and mortgages, was part of the "Bank Brussels Lambert" (the current ING Group) after taking over in 1999. The headquarters of the Banque Hypothécaire et Immobilière d’Anvers was located, since its founding, in the Twaalfmaandenstraat no. 13, near the old Stock Exchange.
