The Nagô are a population from west Africa who mainly lives in Benin. Their number was estimated between 50.000 and 60.000 in the 1980s. Most live in Kétou, Savé, Tchaourou, and Doumé, in the north of Abomey and in Porto-Novo, the capital, the place where they got closer to the Gouns.
Usually they have a high level of education and occupy a significant place within the public sphere.
