Very Beautiful Dogon granary door, in good condition, with a lovely finishing.
African Dogon granary door. These doors were used to close above-ground granaries. The door is carved in relief. Faces, similar to Kanaga masks, well-known Dogon figures, are carved in the wood. The lock’s sliding bolt still remains. The Dogon live in the region of the Bandi Cliffs, located at the east of the Niger River, at about more or less 150 kilometres from the city of Djenné.
