Reproduction of a tapestry from the late 15th century kept at the Museum of Wall Art (Wien). This Gothic-inspired work is the only survivor of a series titled ‘Vengeance of the Lord’.
It relates the journey of a messenger sent by Tiberius to Jerusalem to meet Pontius Pilate. Unfortunately he was delayed by a storm and only arrived to learn of Christ's death.
Inscriptions on the top and on one of the characters. Printed on cotton.

In good overall condition, with some signs of wear and age, light discolouration. The pictures are part of the description and illustrate well the condition of this lot.
