Satsuma ceramic plate, round with craquelure finish and decorated with a picture of wise men seated outside a Buddhist temple. Two emblems (mon) of the Shimazu clan at the top and bottom, joined by two Ryu dragons in relief decorated with polychrome enamels and pure gold. Large signature on the back: "Dai nippon Satsuma Yaki Gyokuzan" with Shimazu mon and Paulownia mon decorated in pure gold.
