Korwar statues are made for the purpose of giving a new body to deceased ancestors who roam the Earth bodylessly.
Originally the skull of the deceased ancestor was incorporated into the statue. The use of skulls for this purpose was prohibited in the beginning of the last century at the request of the mission by the Dutch administration at Biak.
Korwars are used to predict the success of an upcoming venture or activity. If the image starts to vibrate or move, the upcoming activity is, dangerous and must be discouraged.
Condition is good, there are age traces. See pictures.
