Underground artist Midas is known for his gold, fluorescent and glow pictures, the surfaces of which magically shimmer and catch the light.
Some consider Midas' work as a homage to the masters of the past, reimagining their work for the twenty-first century, while others have interpreted his oeuvre as parody, a critique of the relationship between art and money. Either way, the distinctive and seductive aesthetic of his prints place Midas in the new generation of subversive artists who are following in the footsteps of Duchamp, Warhol, Koons, Bansky, and Kaws.
