Decorative tribal object from the Philippines. Real wild boar skull, attached to a scale. The a wild boar has been sacrificed by the Mombaki, shaman of the Ifugao. The lucky stone turns this object into an object that brings prosperity. These kind of objects are still hung in the house of the Shaman.
Period: last quarter of the 20th century.

The Ifugao are known for their past as headhunters. The two main reasons for the Ifugao for head hunting were: honour revenge and prestige. The practices of headhunting belongs to the past since a century. The traditions of the Ifugao are still maintained.
