Venus makes Aeneas immortal.

Venus sprinkles her son Aeneas with ambrosia. Aeneas turns now into the god Indiges.

Etched in Italy by Antonio Tempesta, edited in Antwerp 1606.

Antonio Tempesta (1555 – 5 August 1630) was an Italian painter and engraver.
He was a connection between the Baroque Rome and the art of Antwerp.
As pupil of Santi di Tito and the Flemish painter Joannes Stradanus, he was also known for his frescos, etchings and he worked also as court painter to Alessandro Farnese.

From Metamorphoseon sive transformationum.
These prints are similar but in another style as the prints of Crispijn de Passe.
