Beautiful one colour work which brigns out an amazing power. Moretti, the great colorist, whose portraits are strikingly similar, shows us the power of his line in abstraction.
Raymond Moretti is definitively one of the most gifted and greatest French painters and sculptors of the 20th century. An instinctive portraitist, he illustrated many books, posters and magazine covers (La revue littéraire, Pilote, etc.). He also left monumental paintings everywhere in France, including his renown mural (200 sqm) in the Forum des Halles of Paris and in his hometown, Nice. He has illustrated more than 30 French postal stamps.
Moretti was friends with Picasso and Cocteau and collaborated with both.
His work is instantly identifiable. Vivacity, energy, confidence, breathtaking thanks to his skill. A Great Master of colours.
