Beautiful example of French Art, pair of perfume vases made of patinated bronze. Very similar, but with two different sizes. One measures 44 cm, the other one measures 46 cm. Also the allegories are different: one depicts the so-called “ears of wheat” and the other one depicts the “olive twigs”, two Christian symbols. With black marble and granite, and an accurate chiselling of the bronze structure. Very detailed particulars, as the large circular pedestal in black marble with rings also in marble but of different colours. The lids are decorated with winged bronze Sphinxes. An ancient restoration of one of the bases and some small speckles do not take the charm out of the two Cassolettes. The lot has not undergone any recent restoration. We chose to leave the patina developed through time. The weight of the two perfume vases is of kg. 3.291 each. We recommend a preservative restoration.
Careful protective packaging; insured shipping.
The work comes from a private collection and is accompanied by a certification according to the art. 64 Legislative Decree. 22 January 2004, no. 42 Code of Cultural Heritage (Italy)
