Imperial Kriegsmarine sword officer parade.
Model 1889. Imperial Grosser pattern This most impressive Naval Sword is the larger, or Grosser, size. It has an excellent brass handle of the highest quality with beautiful handwork.
The pommel has the shape of a long muzzle lion. The lion features are all hand made, with fine teeth, whiskers and hair. The eyes are also hand-crafted, the type is with faceted red and green glass eyes. This style was apparently an option offered by some companies, but. The lion's manes fully continue over the back band, with very fine details.
The handle of the sword is a stationary style, as opposed to the folding type. The outer part of the guard has the usual maritime motif, as well as random, hand-applied pebble in the middle. At the bottom of the basket is an oval decorated with a detailed polluted anchor covered with an imperial crown. The copper ferrules are decorated with floral motifs.
Both sides of the blade are generously decorated with nautical themes, with a polluted anchor and a fully rigged sailing ship. Maker Eisenauer. Nice rare copy
