Japans sword stand kake (江戸時代, Edo-jidai)
I would asy it is very unique and rare to find in this condition,
truly a great piece.
This gorgeous work of art is in original condition, the wonderful painting of deer and birds with 'Takae-Echie Hikaru drawer' and colours make it a stunning piece.
The samurai were proud of their swords and treated them with utmost respect.
When the swords were resting they were presented on a kake, the higher the rank the more beautiful the kake was.
These works of art from this period are very rare.
Naturally it does have signs of wear, as I think should be expected. In very good general condition.
This kake is 42.3 cm wide.
Depth is 23 cm.
