Rare mannequin for artist, carved in walnut wood and articulated in all its parts with metal joints (iron and brass), made in France in the mid-19th century.
The back is marked with the logo “Maquette Francaise sur Armature Articulee/Bremvetee S.G.D.G/Paris B”.
The item is in excellent condition. It shows normal signs of age and use, presumably at the studios of the artists, painters and sculptors of the period.
It doesn’t show visible signs of restoration or woodworms.
Purchased about 15 years ago in the antique shop Yveline at 4 Rue de Furstemberg, Paris for €6,000.
