Pietro De Francisco was born in Palermo in 1873.
His first artistic training took place in Palermo, from 1894 to 1898, at the Institute of Fine Arts.
In 1905 he received the gold medal at the St. Louis Exhibition.
He wrote books on Futurism and painted en plein air impressions of impact.
After 1923 he was in Deauville.
He traveled to Brittany, Normandy and Provence, stayed in Nice, Marseille, Saint-Tropez.
At the end of 1939 he settled in Saint Tropez and married Clara Valentini.
They moved permanently to Mentone, where he last held a solo exhibition 1966, and died in 1969.
In 1989 the City of Palermo dedicated a retrospective exhibition to him.
