Beautiful rural scene of a farmer plowing, oil on canvas,
Really masterful work,
as the houses are still twilight in the back sun,
  but the sun is already illuminating the plow and the oxen,
that brings it out of the twilight,
completely artistic work.
Canvas size Height 30 cm and Width 40 cm.
Signed lower right.
Completely in good condition, both canvas and beautiful frame, though.

J.S. Knikker was a student of the Haagse Kunstakademie and his father Jan Knikker Sr. Painted mainly landscapes and cityscapes, many under his psdeudonym Endlich, with which he was successful at home and abroad.
