Founded in 1928 by Riccardo Gatti, the Bottega d’Arte Ceramica has always stood out for the constant research of innovative techniques and styles and for its extremely rich production of unique works. A ceramist and a sculptor, Gatti distinguished himself in the Faenza art scene since 1908, when he earned important national and international awards dor inventing complex ceramic processing techniques with exceptional results, such as the metallic reflections, which he developed back in the 1920s and are still used in the current production to obtain iridescent shades and colours.
Today as then, at Ceramica Gatti 1928 majolica processing cycle is entirely handmade, each manufactured item is a unique and exclusive piece, created according to techniques that are over one century old and widely recognised all over the world.
The traditional Faenza decorations are combined with new creations and aesthetic elaborations more in line with the times, and with the needs of the contemporary decor, from design to artistic craftsmanship.
