Very beautiful and antique photo album with a deep-red velvet cover, with beautiful brass ornaments on top. 4 tooled decorations on the corners, and 1 in the centre. Thick cardboard pages with gilded edges on all sides, with slide-in system for the photos, 1 to 2 per page. Time has caused some minor damage, most probably caused by putting in and removing photos. The photos all have a golden frame that further enhances the decoration of the pages. This photo-album probably dates from circa 1860-1900. The album has 13 thick pages for photos and can thus accommodate 40 photographs. The photos date from circa 1900. On 1 photo the date 1889 is seen. The 18 photos as far as we could ascertain, are of Paris and Fontainebleau in France and are by various photographers. Portraits and posed photos of adults and children, and 1 holiday photo.
