Meteorite Campo del Cielo

The iron meteorite Campo del Cielo was first mentioned in 1576. The discovery site consists of a field of 122 pits and craters, the largest one measures 70 m in diameter and is 5 m deep. In the last two centuries, numerous, partially very heavy masses were recovered here, with a total estimated weight of 30 to 50 t, which makes Campo del Cielo the third largest meteorite after Hoba and Cape York.
