The suction cup is a glass and bell-shaped container for treatments by inducing a "revulsion" by suction effect on the skin.
To heat the air and induce a relative vacuum when it cools, we insert a compress, cotton, tow or a piece of paper soaked in methylated spirits and ignited in the container. The flame goes out spontaneously when the air is consumed. The suction cup is then applied to the back of the person to be treated, so that by cooling, by its contraction, it produces a powerful suction effect.
Vintage suction cups. 20th century. I do not know the origin or the exact date of manufacture, but the glass is blown glass (with fine bubbles in the glass and not regular shape), which indicates that they date from the early or mid-20th century.
