Solid and antique, hand-made Dutch silver gravy or sauce ladle.
Lovely and attractive model.
The sauce ladle is particularly beautiful in form and has a nice firm twisted stem.
Has been made with a particularly beautiful scalloped handle that is decorated with very fine and detailed engravings of leaves and floral motifs.
Beautifully marked with the Dutch hallmarks:
Silver fineness of the Lion passant for 2nd grade fineness 0.833.
Assay office mark of the Minerva head with the letter F for Leeuwarden.
Year letter U = 1904.
Master’s mark: SP under a hammer.
Master’s mark is unknown to me, but will likely be a Frisian silversmith in view of the Leeuwarden assay hallmark.
It is a large ladle: Length: 19.5 cm.
Weight: 38.6 g.
The ladle is in particularly beautiful and intact condition and undented and unscratched.
With its beautiful shape and detailed tooling, this is a striking and particularly decorative object that can also be used.
This lot will be well packaged and shipped via registered mail.
