New road sign, with intervention by street artist Crosty, stencil spray on sticker and road sign.
The sign represents the ‘pedestrian’ in today’s society, trapped in a cage like hamsters on the wheel. Work archived with no. GA161804 with COA, certificate of authenticity.
Crosty registered in Gigarte international archive of contemporary arts, a self-taught artist, he discovered that he had a remarkable sensitivity for art in the 2000s and he began to visit museums and exhibitions in his city, Rome, and then admired the beauties of Italian cities such as Florence and Venice. He increased his experience by visiting some of Europe’s art cities, he immediately became a modest collector of modern and contemporary art, passionate about street art and remained fascinated by great artists such as Blek le Rat, Imbue, Banksy, pure evil, fake, Obey. He began collecting and supporting street art, convinced that it is a constantly evolving movement that has yet to express itself in its most natural and genuine form, for too long considered as a form of vandalism and not really Art. He began to deal with canvases and brushes reproducing his favourite artists, developing real artist’s copies. In Rome, artist’s copies are commonly called ‘crusts’ in Roman dialect. Therefore, while respecting the value of real artists, those with a capital A, he decided to take the pseudonym of Crosty. Over time, the tributes to the various artists increased, he improved the technique of stencil spray, and it was finally time to identify himself in subjects that represent him, by expressing his thoughts through his ‘crusts’.
