Marius Bauer was born in The Hague on January 25 1867 and died in Amsterdam on July 18 1932. Studied at the academy of fine arts in The Hague. Pupil of Salomon van Witsen. Won several awards with his work.
Made trips to the Middle East, India, Indonesia and North Africa that were often financed by the Art Trade E.J. van Wisselingh who then sold his work.
Member of Arti et Amicitiae, Pulchri Studio, Hollandsche Tekenmaatschappij in The Hague and the Hague Art Circle.
