Album containing 53 large photos of Turkey. Includes various shots, panoramas, monuments, but especially life stills, small crafts, etc. The Abdullah brothers were active in the second half of the 19th century, from 1858 to 1899.

The album is from that time, the covers are decorated with embroidered fabrics, the inside covers are made of silk. The spine is adorned with a crescent moon and a star, the emblem of Turkey.

The photos are mostly 20 x 26 cm, some are a little larger. They all include a description on the bottom right, and "Abdullah Brothers" on the bottom left.

The Abdullah brothers, Vichen (1820-1902), Hovsep (1830-1908) and Kevork (1839-1918) are Ottoman photographers of Armenian origin who became internationally renowned at the end of the Ottoman Empire. They shot panoramic views and famous people, including Ottoman sultans. Most of their photographs have an orientalist style and were taken in the Ottoman Empire.

They worked in photography in Istanbul from 1858 to 1899. They were official photographers of Sultans Abdulaziz and Abdulhamit.
