Rien Poortvliet, a man who has had great success in his own way and completely self-taught for decades with his way of painting and making watercolours. Poortvliet could step into nature like no other, and see situations that he later, perhaps after a simple sketch, turned into a close-knit and creatively high-quality work. Poortvliet was a master at showing life in the forest, in a pasture, on agricultural land or during hunting. Rien Poortvliet has written and made some 25 books, which have appeared in many languages and is already considered one of the better 'wildlife art' painters. The painting is signed and dated in the lower right. It is in very good condition and was recently cleaned by a renowned restorer.
