In 1347, the then 25-year-old Johanna became engaged to the 10-year-old Wenceslaus of Bohemia, they married in 1451. After the death of her father Jan III, Johanna and Wenceslaus became Duchess and Duke of Brabant. Shortly afterwards, the first gold coins were struck in their names, the Golden Lamb.
