The straight lines and geometry of the Bauhaus style are clearly recognisable in the Peill + Putzler Kibo model on offer here. Peill + Putzler has been producing design light objects in cooperation with famous designers for decades, for example with Wilhelm Wagenfeld, one of the most influential designers of the Bauhaus period. This lamp was blown by hand and is made in heavy double-layered opal glass. The interior is white and the exterior is clear, tapering into a transparent crystal tip. The base is made of nickel. The Kibo model was produced in three different sizes. The model on offer here is the largest of the series and it is marked twice.
Many of the iconic pieces by Peill + Putzler can nowadays be found in the collections of
prominent museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The timeless design of the Kibo makes it look good in any contemporary interior.
