Egon Hillebrand founded a factory in light fixtures in 1881. Egon Hillebrand was a plumber and installer, originally. The factory was based in Neheim, Germany.
In the beginning, the company was mainly concerned with making cover plates of the German stone beer pulls, household utensils made of metal, petroleum lamps and storm and wagon lanterns.
Around 1900 his son Franz joined the company and the factory was converted so that repairs of electric light luminaires could also take place.
In 1936, the eldest son of Franz, named Egon, joined the factory that focuses on the development of office and desk lighting. The factory was closed in the 2nd World War and reopened in June 1945.
Manufacturing from that moment onward is focused primarily on the development of lighting for restaurants, decorative home lighting and object lighting. In 1995 the factory was closed.
