Antique kaiken (Japanese knife/dagger)
From the Meiji period, on the grip the family coat of arms of the Tokugawa clan (1046–1867), early 19th century, on both sides.
Decorated with floral patterns in copper.
The blade is sharp.
In very good condition.
The blade has discoloured over the years however.
This kaiken was often given as dowry. She was expected to protect the name of her family with this.
Overall length is 25 cm.
