Omega - Vintage Watch Automatic Cal 491 Rose Gold 18K - 2934 - Hombre - 1950-1959

Brand: Omega Model: Vintage Automatic Movement: Automatic Calibre: Omega 491 18kt rose gold case and case back Case diameter: 38mm (including the crown) Creamy-white dial in excellent condition Original Omega crown New replacement brown leather strap Strap measurements: 85 x 115mm (including the clasp) Strap width at connection to case: 18mm The watch has been serviced by a professional watchmaker. Box and papers not included. Carefully packaged and sent by insured and registered mail via FedEx. The case back of this Omega timepiece does not bear any inscriptions, not even the usual kind, due to the prohibition on importing gold during the years of Portugal's fascist dictatorship (1933-1974). The dictator Salazar forbade the entry of gold or gold objects into Portugal because the Portuguese state held large reserves of high quality gold (18kt / 0.750). This meant that prestigious watch manufacturers such as Omega would send the watch mechanisms, while the cases themselves were manufactured in Portugal.
