Herman C. A. Paradies (1883-1966) - "Binnenhaven Rotterdam"

A beautiful work by the famous Dutch painter Herman Paradies with a view of the inner harbour in Rotterdam.

The watercolour is in good condition.
The work has recently been given a new acid-free mat and has since been returned to the original gold / bronze colour patinated Baroque frame.
The old cardboard with the sticker from art dealership Koch has also been reused to keep it as original as possible.

Herman Paradies mainly made cityscapes and was inspired by the striking places in Rotterdam and later also Schiedam.
Especially the water, in which the whole was reflected and made an extra contribution to the composition, was fascinating to him.
He mastered the technique of depicting that special reflection in a masterful way.
