A 17th century work by Dirck van Berghen.
A beautiful medium-sized work of various kinds of cattle at a barn. Characteristic is often the single cow, which often "shrugs" against a tree or stump, in this case the fence at the barn. A smaller work by this this painter, with almost the same image only with 2 more people near the horse. The dimensions are 25 x 31 cm. It hangs in the Boijmans van Beuningen museum.
This work I'm offering has been doubled and is in a black fluted frame.
You will see a clear difference in the use of light in the photos posted. Namely: the lighter photos were taken outside by me while the darker photos inside were taken by a professional photographer to give you a correct impression of how the painting behaves. In short, for lovers of this kind of works from the 17th century nice work.
Unfortunately, this work is unsigned, but it was clearly created by this painter.
The year of death is not clear. People think between 1690 and 1703.
