In a rare pink quartz as the bedrock, a 66 cm long black tourmaline, also called schorl, has grown. The black tourmaline is highly glossy. In addition to black tourmaline and pink quartz, the stone contains muscovite crystals and feldspar. It is very rare to find black tourmalines grown in rose quartz, because mostly black tourmaline grows in white quartz, in albite, in muscovite or in feldspar. The photos show different sides of the same stone, sometimes illuminated with warm and sometimes cold light.
