This rare floor lamp “Club 1195” was designed by Pier Giuseppe Ramella for Arteluce Milano and manufactured in 1983.
The lamp consists of a black-painted cast iron base with a craquele effect, and a conical stem in white lacquered aluminium; at cone's top end, a black telescopic steel stem branches out, ending with the methacrylate projector / diffuser in polished plexiglass, satinized in the centre. The projector has a lens fixed to the front which helps the light diffusion.
It is an object of amazing design, suitable for collectors or as a designer furnishing accessory.
The lamp is featured in the second volume of Repertorio del Design Italiano per l’arredamento domestico, the scan is among the pictures.
The diffuser, which seems to float in the void, rotates 360° both vertically and horizontally, allowing optimal adjustment of the light beam. Thanks to the black telescopic stem, the lamp can be adjusted at a height between 128 and 157 cm. The switch on the conical part allows selecting 2 different light intensity degrees.
Another interesting detail is the space between the base and the cone, used to wind the power cord.
Visually very well preserved, the lamp has no particular flaws to report, only slight signs of ageing, yet no breakage, missing parts or serious defects. The plastic parts are intact.
The original wiring works perfectly; it needs one 12V halogen light bulb, included in this lot.
Dimensions and minimum height: 128 x 27 x 22 cm.
Base diameter: 22 cm.
