A very beautiful portrait of Anna Laurensdr van Spangen, wife of the Dutch Grand Pensionary Adriaen van der Goes (Delft, around 1505 - The Hague, 5th November 1560).
Several versions of this painting are known which are registered with the RKD https://rkd.nl/explore/images/128146. This painting is the only painting with an oval shape. The top of the painting may have been supplemented with a panel from another painting (Adriaen van der Goes?) To create the shape. The beautiful oval frame is 18th century; That was fashion at the time.
Another painting is in ‘The National Gallery’ in London. There, 1543 is listed as a year, see the attached photo of The National Gallery. Iconographia Batavia reports a work from 1544 (work 7429, see the photo).
Condition: see the pictures. Inactive old woodworm corridors. Old dirty varnish layer deprives you of any restorations.
